Child Consecration

Day 16

Come, Holy Spirit

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.

V. Send forth Thy Spirit, and they shall be created;

R. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth. LET US PRAY.

O God, who didst teach the hearts of Thy faithful people by sending them the light of Thy Holy Spirit, grant us

by the same Spirit to have right judgement in all things, and evermore to rejoice in His holy comfort. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen

O Holy Spirit, sweet Guest of my soul, abide in me and grant that I may ever abide in Thee.

     The fruits that we grow we do not want to lose while we harvest others. This can happen if the fruits are not stored in safety. In the story, “A Garden,” we are told that “[l]ittle critters came and tried to take the vegetables.” Something similar can happen to us. During our time here on earth, through our prayers, love, and sacrifices, we can accumulate fruits that we wish to give to the Father. When we store our fruits on earth, they can decay and, worse yet, be taken.

     Yet just as the  mother  in our story, “A Garden,” protected the vegetables from being taken by placing a net over  them, so, too, Our Blessed Mother can protect all we have gathered to give to God. How wise is the child that from a young age gives all that he or she harvests to Our Blessed Mother for safe keeping. What joy there will be when the Father comes at harvest time and all is ready and safe!

Goal: Let us give all our fruits and treasures to Mary that she may keep them safe.
