Child Consecration

Day 19

Come, Holy Spirit

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.

V. Send forth Thy Spirit, and they shall be created;

R. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth. LET US PRAY.

O God, who didst teach the hearts of Thy faithful people by sending them the light of Thy Holy Spirit, grant us

by the same Spirit to have right judgement in all things, and evermore to rejoice in His holy comfort. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen

O Holy Spirit, sweet Guest of my soul, abide in me and grant that I may ever abide in Thee.

     We do not want to stand before God at the end of our life and have Him show us all that we could have achieved. How sad it would be to see the multitude of fruits and vegetables we could have harvested, and yet we stand with just a few or worse yet . . . nothing. There will be  no time to go back and retrace our steps and do things differently. But what if we had such a wise and perfect perspective when we set out on our journey . . . before any time was lost? What if we had the wisdom of a person who had lived their whole life when yet we were tiny and just starting out? To have Our Blessed Mother lead us is to have a guide who has not only the perspective of a life already lived, but also the perspective from Heaven where things are seen through the lens of truth.

     Our Blessed Mother who is in Heaven also has the ability to see those dangers where we might fall and be spiritually hurt. While we walk through a thick forest where pitfalls lie before us, she has full view of these dangers and can gently guide us around them in safety. How wonderful to have someone with a perfect view watching out for us and leading us to the goal we seek which is union with God and eternity in Heaven!

Goal: Our Blessed Mother can see potential dangers that lie before each of us—how wise is the soul that asks Our Lady to guide it through life!
