Child Consecration

Day 9

Come, Holy Spirit

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.

V. Send forth Thy Spirit, and they shall be created;

R. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth. LET US PRAY.

O God, who didst teach the hearts of Thy faithful people by sending them the light of Thy Holy Spirit, grant us

by the same Spirit to have right judgement in all things, and evermore to rejoice in His holy comfort. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen

O Holy Spirit, sweet Guest of my soul, abide in me and grant that I may ever abide in Thee.

     Our Blessed Mother also instills  in  those  devoted to her a spirit of gratitude. Mothers are very good at reminding their children to thank those who give them gifts. We are constantly receiving gifts from God the Father, but often we do not perceive these gifts. As we develop a closer relationship with Our Blessed Mother, she helps her children to become more sensitive and aware of the gifts that flow from the Father. And after she increases our awareness of the gifts being given to us, she fills our hearts with a spirit of gratitude.

     A soul that is grateful is most pleasing to God. We do not deserve all the gifts we receive, but being thankful is a small way we can show our love for Our Heavenly Father. This spirit of gratitude also calls down from Heaven a rain of even more graces and blessings. Such are the joys of a grateful soul.

Goal: Mary helps her children to see the gifts they are receiving from God and helps us to cultivate a grateful heart that is eager to thank God.
